TaskLie SnapBill

About

A TaskLive product from BLS Software Pvt Ltd

SnapBill started as a tool we needed ourselves. Company-card bills were captured at the point of spend and forgotten, and accounts asked for them at year-end. The first version was built to file a bill in the five seconds you are already standing at the card machine, and to hand accounts one file a month.

It became a product when the design constraint turned out to be the whole point: a bill app that never uploads the bill. No account, no server, no analytics. The phone reads the bill, the phone keeps it, and the only thing that leaves is the export you share.

The TaskLive family

TaskLive is BLS Software’s line of work tools. SnapBill shares its brand, its design language and its approach: build the thing that does the job, keep the data where it belongs. Ganav, the family’s accounting and practice platform, lives at tasklive.ai/ganav. Ganav, the family’s accounting and practice platform, lives at tasklive.ai/ganav.

SnapBill’s export package is designed as a stable contract. Every future way of getting bills out of SnapBill and into a company’s system, starting with “Submit to TaskLive Ganav”, consumes that same package. The person snapping bills keeps a private app; the company receives only what is explicitly submitted.

What we believe about this category

  • Local-first is a feature, not a limitation. An expense app does not need a server to read a bill, and the moment it has one, your receipts are someone else’s data.
  • Honest over helpful. A field the app is unsure of is marked, not guessed. A total that could not be converted is counted, not hidden. A date that could not be read is left empty, not filled with today.
  • Export is not submission. Generating a file is not the same as handing it over, and the app never conflates them.
  • The accounts team is a user too. The package is built to be opened, not decoded.
